Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

AnyScript ("AnyScript", "we", "us", "our") operates anyscript.app, a service that turns short-form videos from TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts into searchable transcripts, translations, and AI script breakdowns.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to visitors, guest users, registered Free users, and paid Pro / Lifetime users alike.

By using AnyScript you confirm that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account data. Name, email address, password hash, and — if you sign in with Google — the profile fields returned by the OAuth provider (email, display name, avatar URL, locale).
• Submitted URLs. The TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts links you paste into the workspace, together with any notes you attach to a job.
• Generated output. Transcripts, translations, and AI script breakdowns produced by the service are stored against your account so you can return to them later. You can delete any individual transcript from the workspace.
• Billing information. When you upgrade to a paid plan, we receive your plan tier, currency, transaction ID, billing country, and the brand / last four digits of your payment method from our payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number, CVC, or bank credentials.
• Support communications. Emails, chat messages, or contact-form submissions you send us.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data. Pages viewed, features used, jobs submitted, plan-quota counters, and error logs.
• Device data. IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device category, screen size, language preference, and time-zone offset.
• Guest identifier. When you use AnyScript without signing in, we set a first-party cookie that holds a random identifier so we can enforce the free guest quota. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

• Provide the transcription, translation, and AI-breakdown service you requested.
• Authenticate you, persist your sessions, and protect your account.
• Apply plan-specific quota and rate limits so the service stays fair and online.
• Process payments and prevent fraudulent transactions.
• Send transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts, password resets, account notices).
• Send product updates and newsletters, only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent automated abuse, scraping, or other violations of our Terms of Service.
• Diagnose technical issues and improve the quality, reliability, and accuracy of the service.
• Comply with our legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are:

• Contract — delivering the service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interests — securing the platform, preventing abuse, improving features.
• Consent — newsletter and optional analytics cookies.
• Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and lawful requests from authorities.

5. Service Providers and AI Processing

AnyScript relies on a small set of trusted third-party providers to deliver the service. We share only the data each category of provider needs to perform its function, under a data-processing agreement where applicable.

• Cloud hosting, CDN, and storage providers — host the application and store generated assets such as exported transcripts.
• Speech-to-text and large-language-model providers — receive the audio track of the public video you submit (for transcription) or the generated transcript text (for translation and AI breakdown). We only work with providers whose API terms prohibit using inputs to train their public models.
• Video-metadata providers — receive only the public video URL you submit, in order to fetch publicly available metadata for that URL.
• Payment providers — process subscription billing and one-time payments. They receive your name, email, plan, billing country, and payment-method metadata. The active payment provider is shown on the checkout page; please review their privacy notice as well.
• Email and communication providers — send transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts) and the optional newsletter. They receive your email address and message metadata.
• Operational monitoring — anonymized service-health signals only (no end-user content or identifiers).

We do not sell your personal data to any of these parties. The current list of sub-processors may change as the service evolves; we will keep the categories above up to date.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We disclose it only:

• to the sub-processors listed above, strictly to deliver the service;
• to comply with a valid legal request, court order, or applicable law;
• to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users; and
• in connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, or asset sale), where the acquirer will be bound by terms at least as protective as this Policy.

7. Data Retention

• Account and billing records are retained while your account is active and for up to 24 months after deletion or account closure, to comply with tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations.
• Transcripts, translations, and AI breakdowns stay in your workspace until you delete them, or until your account is closed.
• Guest quota data keyed by the anonymous guest cookie is purged automatically 90 days after its last use.
• Server logs are retained for up to 30 days before being rotated out.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Deletion is irreversible and cascades to your transcripts, generated content, and quota records.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection or restriction — object to or restrict certain processing activities.
• Withdraw consent — for processing that relies on your consent, at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you also have rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. AnyScript does not sell personal information.

9. International Data Transfers

AnyScript is operated from outside the European Union, and our sub-processors operate globally. Where personal data is transferred from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to a third country, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, equivalent safeguards, or your explicit consent.

10. Children's Privacy

AnyScript is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies

We use first-party cookies for authentication, quota enforcement, language preference, and theme. Optional analytics cookies are enabled only with your consent. The full list and your choices are described in our Cookie Policy.

12. Security

We protect your data with TLS-encrypted transport, hashed passwords, isolated production environments, least-privilege access controls, and routine dependency and code review. No internet service can be 100% secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information and will notify you of any material breach without undue delay.

13. Changes to This Policy

We will update this Policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
